On 14 September 2016, on occasion of the speech by European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker on the State of the Union, the Commission presented a set of initiatives for the regulation of the European Union in the field of electronic communications, with new measures to respond to the increasing needs of connectivity of European citizens and enhancing Europe’s competitiveness.
These initiatives included the following measures:
- Proposed Directive establishing the European Electronic Communications Code

To contribute to the formulation of ANACOM's position on this matter, and to hear the positions of different stakeholders on this initiative, a workshop will be held on 8 November 2016, beginning at 2:00 pm, at Lisbon’s Novotel.
