7th meeting of CPG PTC - April 2019

The seventh meeting of project team C (PTC) of CEPT’s CPG was held last 9-11 April in Bled, Slovenia.

The gathering was chaired by Martin Weber of Germany and attended by 33 delegates representing 17 national regulatory authorities, observers and the European Communications Office (ECO).

PTC is responsible for debating and proposing to the CPG the European common proposals (ECPs) to defend at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19), with respect to items under its responsibility in the scope of CEPT/CPG (1.8, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.10 and 9.1.4). They concern issues affecting maritime and aeronautic communications, specifically spectrum needs and regulatory provisions for introduction and use of the Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) and regulatory questions for updating and modernisation of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

Various matters concerning items dealt with in the scope of PTC were discussed and the proposed briefs on several items, approved within the project team, were updated ahead of submission to the CPG for consideration/approval. Proposed ECPs on all the items under analysis, except for item 9.1, issue 9.1.4 of the WRC-19 agenda, were likewise approved for submission to the CPG.

The next meeting of CPG PTC will be held this 1-5 July in Vilnius, Lithuania.
