Growth of 4.1% in number of subscribers to bundled services in 1st quarter 2021


In 1st quarter 2021, there were 4.3 million subscribers to bundled services in Portugal, representing an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period of the 2020 and corresponding to 170 thousand new customers. This growth is primarily due to increases in subscriptions to 4/5P offers (114 thousand additional subscribers) and, to a lesser extent, 3P offers (71 thousand additional subscribers).

4/5P bundles had the most subscriptions with 2.2 million subscribers (50.6% of total subscribers to bundled offers), followed by 3P offers with 1.7 million subscribers (39.6% of total subscribers).

Between January and March 2021, revenues from bundled services were reported at around 443 million euros, corresponding to an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period of 2020. Revenues from 4/5P offers represented 63% of the total.

In 1st quarter 2021, MEO was the provider with the largest share of customers (40.7% of subscribers to bundled services), followed by Grupo NOS (36.3%), Vodafone (19.5%) and Grupo NOWO/Onitelecom (3.5%). MEO reported 41.1% of total revenues, followed by Grupo NOS with 40.1%; Vodafone with 16.7%; and Grupo NOWO/Onitelecom with 2.1%.
