16th URSI Portuguese Committee Congress debates quantum communications


The 16th Congress of the URSIhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1731338 Portuguese Committee takes place on 25 November 2022, at the Lisbon Academy of Sciences and remotely, to debate the future of quantum communications.

Quantum communications are currently playing a fundamental role in the global ecosystems of communications networks, particularly by introducing mechanisms that strengthen security, not only for these communications and data transaction processes between systems, but also for authentication and identity processes.

By using the laws of Quantum Physics to protect data, it is possible to detect and contain attempts by hackers to obtain improper access to information that is not intended for them, since it becomes impossible for an attack to go unnoticed without leaving a revealing trace or a signal.

Participation is free and open to all interested parties, requiring only a prior registration by 23 November 2022.
