This report presents the key findings of the electronic communications consumer survey which was carried out by ANACOM and MARKTEST between 9 November and 29 December 2006. The survey looks, in particular, at consumer trends with regard to the telephone service at a fixed location (FTS), the mobile telephone service (MTS) and the subscription television service.

Among the results of the survey, one of the key findings is that around 59.2 per cent of Portuguese households had a fixed-line telephone in December 2006, in line with the finding of the survey carried in February 2006. With respect to the mobile telephone service, around 87.7 per cent of those surveyed had a mobile phone, which represents a rise of 3.2 per cent over February 2006. The quality of the MTS is also considered to be good or very good by most of those surveyed.

Finally concerning the subscription television service, 43.3 per cent of Portuguese households had subscription television, a figure which cannot be compared with the February survey as it was then included.
