Study Group - SG6 (Broadcasting Service) - WP6A - Geneva

Working party (WP) 6A on terrestrial broadcasting service (television and radio) met last 3-12 November in Geneva.

The meeting saw the approval of more than 40 documents: proposed new recommendations, proposed recommendation revisions and new reports or updates of same. Standing out among the proposed new recommendations is the one concerning frequency harmonisation for auxiliary broadcasting service equipment (emitting microphones, wireless cameras, etc).

Regarding the revised recommendations, the one associated to Recommendation ITU-R BT.1368-7 (Planning Criteria for Digital Terrestrial Television Service in VHF and UHF Bands) stands out; new protection relationships were introduced based on results of the applied measures.

As for reports, note the modification of Report ITU-R 2142 (Effect of Digital Television Signal Dispersion Due to the Effect of Wind Turbines), particularly interesting given the widespread use of wind turbines in Portugal; new data were introduced following tests conducted in Spain.
