In accordance with the draft decision approved on 6 July 2005, PT Comunicações (PTC) shall be required to lower the price for each of the individual provisions which form a part of the television signal distribution and broadcast service, by a minimum of 17 %, in order to guarantee that the tariff structure of the service in question complies with the principle of cost orientation. The new prices are to go into effect on 1 August 2005.
The interested parties were given notice to express their opinion, within 20 working days, on the draft decision, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 100 and 101 of the Code of Administrative Procedure. An assessment was also requested of the Instituto de Comunicação Social (ICS).
