ANACOM authorized, under number 3 of article 5th of Decree-Law number 151-A/2000, of July 20th, Siemens, SGC Telecom and Group Media Capital to carry out technical trials of digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) technologies, digital television for reception on mobile terminals (DVB-H) and of the MPEG-4 compression format, following the requestes made by these companies.
This does not result in any bond, obligation or conditioning of ANACOM’s later authorization regarding the future allocation of rights of use of the frequencies reserved for the digital terrestrial television in Portugal.
ANACOM will accompany the trials and have access to their conclusions, both from a technological standpoint and also in terms of the efective market potential of services based on these technologies.
