Developments on Galileo


It was accepted on the 27th of June of 2005 the joint proposal of two consortia running for the concession of the European system of satellite navigation, Galileo. The two consortia - Eurely (Aena, Alcatel, Finmeccanica, Hispasat) and iNavSat (EADS Space, Inmarsat and Thales) - presented the proposal on the 20th of June in the scope of the selection process that started in September 2004.

Galileo Joint Undertaking, the entity responsible for the administration of Galileo, will now initiate the process of negotiation of the concession contract, which is expected to be concluded before the end of 2005.
