PT Supervision/Market Data - Budapest

Budapest hosted last 4-5 March a meeting of the CERP project team (PT) on Supervision/Market Data.

The following issues stood out at this gathering:

  • presentation and debate on how quality of service is measured in Hungary;

  • debate on prospects for the evolution postal services (highlights being hybrid mail and impact on the postal sector, the need to understand consumers and the role of sector regulatory bodies);

  • consideration of the ongoing revision by the European Standardisation Committee (CEN) of standard EN 13850:2009 (“Postal services – measurement of the transit time of end-to-end services for single piece priority mail and first class”), stressing the main differences;

  • decision to produce a report on quality of service for the year 2009 – a working group was set up to improve the questionnaire that will underlie preparation of the said report;

  • discussion of the theme topic developed by the Universal Postal Union (UPU): “Extension of the Postal Service Provision into the Internet”.
