Madrid hosted last 22 March the sixth meeting of the CEPT project team in charge of preparing for the next ITU World Telecommunications Development Conference (PT WTDC-10), scheduled to take place from 24 May to 4 June 2010 in the Indian city of Hyderabad.
Participants in the meeting, chaired by Hassane of Makki of Switzerland, decided to go ahead with a European common proposal suggesting the creation of a new question on climate changes in the scope of Study Group 2 of the ITU development sector. PT WTDC-10 also debated the possibility of moving forward with a proposed resolution on the same subject. It was nevertheless decided that such proposal would not be formulated for the time being.
Also debated was the document titled “Three Main Issues/Priorities for CEPT in View of WTDC-10, Hyderabad”. Discussion of the document is part of preparations for the CEPT/APT meeting that will precede the world conference. Its aim is basically to share the positions each region aims to defend at WTDC-10.
