World Conference on International Telecommunications working group meetings - Geneva

The second and third meetings of the ITU Council working group in charge of preparing the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) were held in Geneva on 12 and 23 April, respectively.

Both meeting focused on examining contributions concerning preparation of the conference, and on preparation of the group's report to the next Plenipotentiary Conference (PP10) this coming October.

Agreement was also reached to set up a correspondence group to analyse and prepare proposals regarding the updating or withdrawal of Resolutions and Recommendations from the World Administrative Telegraphy and Telephone Conference held in 1988, in which the International Telecommunications Regulation was approved.

The group's future meetings will be decided by PP10.
