ANACOM submits today the draft decision adopted on 4 October 2007 to a public consultation, in the scope of which the following measures have been provided for:
- To limit to one the number of rights of use for frequencies granted in the 450-470 MHz band, for the provision of the land mobile service (LMS) available to the public;
- To define that the allocation procedure for this right of use for frequencies shall take the form of a public tender;
- To provide for the allocation of individual rights of use for frequencies, in the 450-470 MHz band, for the provision of the LMS available to the public, at the request of providers of the mobile service with shared resources (MSSR), at the end of the referred public tender, without prejudice to the compliance of MSSR operators with determinations issued by ANACOM in the scope of ongoing procedures; and
- To accordingly amend the provisions of the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP).
Interested parties have been granted a 20-working-day period to assess the issue in writing. Therefore the deadline for receiving comments is 14 November 2007. These comments should be preferably sent by e-mail to e-mail address smt450@anacom.pt.
Once the consultation procedure is concluded, replies received will be released on this website and, thus, interested parties should clearly identify any content regarded as confidential.
