Cooperation with Sao Tome and Principe

The Chairman of Sao Tome and Principe's Autoridade Geral de Regulação (AGER - General Regulation Authority), Orlando de Assunção Fernandes, visited ANACOM on 10 October for a meeting in the scope of the institutional cooperation between both authorities.

AGER, the regulatory authority of Sao Tome and Principe, which supervises the telecommunications and postal sectors, among others, is the last sectoral operator to be created in the CPLP - Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa (Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries).

This meeting helped to re-launch the institutional and technical cooperation between ANACOM and those responsible for the sectoral regulation in Sao Tome and Principe. This is the only Portuguese-speaking African country with which no cooperation protocol for the communications sector has been signed, notwithstanding the regular participation of Sao Tome's representatives at cooperation initiatives organized by ANACOM since 1990.
