ANACOM’s new organisational structure, approved by determination of 5 February 2007, comes into force today. This reorganisation aims to adapt the structure which dates back to 2003 to the developments that have occurred in the meantime in the telecommunications market.
The three existing functional areas are maintained - area of support to the Management Board, operational area and area of support to the organization -, including nevertheless new offices and directorates.
The area of support to the Management Board now integrates the Board Support Office, the Communications Security Office, the Studies and Forecasting Office and the Competency Management Office. The position of Deputy Director is established within the Management Board for special projects purposes.
The operational area comprises the Market Regulation Directorate, the Inspection and Investigation Directorate, the Regulation and Legal Affairs Directorate, the Spectrum Management Directorate, the Information and Statistics Directorate and the External Affairs Directorate.
The support to the Organization is ensured by the Information Technologies and Systems Directorate, the Financial and Administrative Directorate and the Image and Communication Directorate.
The assignment of responsibilities among Management Board members has been approved accordingly, by determination of 8 February 2007:
Chairman, José Manuel Amado da Silva: Board Support Office and press advice services;
Vice-chairman - Alberto Souto de Miranda: Regulation and Legal Affairs Directorate, External Affairs Directorate and Competency Management Office;
Teresa Maury: Inspection and Investigation Directorate, Image and Communication Directorate and Communications Security Office;
José Ferrari Careto: Spectrum Management Directorate, Market Regulation Directorate and Financial and Administrative Directorate;
Eduardo Cardadeiro: Studies and Forecasting Office, Information and Statistics Directorate and Information Technologies and Systems Directorate.
The Management Board Deputy Director for special projects is dependent of Eduardo Cardadeiro, in organisational terms and, in operational terms, on the member of the Board responsible for the special project under consideration.
