Cooperation - Brazil and CPLP


The 8th ANACOM/ANATEL Coordination Committee Meeting took place in November 2004, further continuing this platform for discussion and exchange of experiences between the Brazilian and the Portuguese regulatory authorities, initiated in 1999.

This year, the agenda includes the following themes: relevant regulatory measures adopted by both entities since the last bilateral meeting, regulatory developments within the numeric portability, resale of telecommunications services and radio spectrum, impacts of the technological convergence in regulation, broadband, mobile services market, price control, market analysis and definition of relevant markets, Internet access quality of service assessment, Europe and Latin America relations, participation in international forums and ANACOM and ANATEL internal reorganization processes.

Another topic which is going to be discussed during this meeting is the III Telecommunications Technical Meeting of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), which is going to take place in Lisbon, from 15 to 17 November 2004. This seminar will be attended by high level representatives from CPLP countries and workshops will cover several matters: convergence of technologies and services, interconnection and local loop unbundling, regulation, market monitoring and supervision as well as institutional cooperation, including debate and conclusions on the programme for the triennium 2001-2004 and the definition of the programme for the triennium 2004-2007.
