The 2011 Letter-Writing Competition is already underway and the theme for this year is: ''Imagine you are a tree. Explain why it is important to protect the forest''. The deadline for receipt of letters is 25 February 2011 (postage date stamp).
An initiative of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) (União Postal Universal) and promoted by ANACOM and CTT - Correios de Portugal, ensuring the Portugal representation in that specialized organization of the United Nations. This individual competition is aimed at young people residing in Portugal, aged 9 to 15 years (completed by 31 January 2011).
One of the winning letters will represent Portugal at the 2011 International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People, organised by the UPU.
