The 20th Congress of APDC - Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento das Comunicações (Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications), took place in Lisbon, on 17 and 18 November 2010, under the theme 'Restart - New challenges. New solutions.”, with the objective to show that the crisis has to be a time of economic and social creativity. ANACOM took part in the opening ceremony of the congress, as well as in the sessions that took place over the two-day event.
The Chairman of ANACOM, José Amado da Silva, was one of the speakers at the opening session, which was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Development, Vieira da Silva, and by the President of APDC, Diogo Vasconcelos. In addition, a video presentation was made by the European Commissioner for Digital Agenda, Neelie Kroes, which highlighted Portugal´s enthusiasm in innovation and in programmes promoting access to broadband Internet.
On the first day of the Congress, ANACOM´s Vice –Chairman, Alberto Souto de Miranda, delivered a speech at the opening session “Restart – Liberalisation of the Postal Sector Services”. On the second day, a member of ANACOM's Management Board, José Ferrari Careto, was the main speaker of the session “Restart Regulation – New Networks & New Challenges”.
