DTT - DECO analyses connections to old television sets

Within the scope of the transition to digital terrestrial television (DTT), DECO - Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (The Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection) has disclosed an article on tests made on signal modulators for old TV sets. Modulators are devices required only when TV sets are not equipped with a SCART connector or HDMI, to which a set-top-box is connected, allowing access to DTT. On the other hand, it is also stressed that the purchase of a set-top-box is not required when TV sets are already capable of DVB-T reception and are compatible with MPEG4/H.264, which may be verified by checking the data provided by the manufacturer.
