At the invitation of the Norwegian regulator (NPT - Norwegian Post and Telecommunication Authority) the Number Portability project team (PT NP) of the working group on Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) met last 28-29 June in Lillesand, Norway. This working group produces studies and reports on aspects affecting number portability.
The following topics were discussed at the meeting:
- Establishment of compensation mechanisms for subscribers and/or among providers in case of delay or abuse of number portability;
- Identification of methods to increase the efficiency of portability processes;
- Evaluation of number portability in fixed and mobile services.
This team will next meet in October 2011.
