Internet use in households and by individuals in 2011

This edition of Statistics in Focus gives an overview of the most recent results of the survey on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the European Union (EU) in 2011.

The survey of individuals and of households with at least one person aged 16-74 shows that around one quarter of the surveyed population in the EU27 have never used the internet.  Among those who used it, most internet users have searched for information and news, participated in social networks and bought products online.
