DTT - First phase of switch-off begins


A public session is being held today, marking the definitive transition to digital terrestrial television (DTT), with the beginning of the 1st phase of the plan to switch off analogue terrestrial television transmissions (Switch-off Plan), with the  modifications approved by ANACOM on 5 January.

The ceremony, taking place in Palmela at 10.45 a.m., is being attended by José Amado da Silva, Chairman of ANACOM, Miguel Relvas, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, and Portugal Telecom CEO, Zeinal Bava.

Today sees the switch-off of the Palmela transmitters (RTP and TVI) and the relays at Alcácer do Sal, Melides and Sesimbra.
