Denmark releases programme for EU presidency

The Danish presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) has officially released its programme, focusing on the development of a Europe that is responsible, dynamic, green and safe.

At a sector level, the Danish Programme, presented on 6 January 2012, sets out to enhance the concept of a digital single market, with initiatives such as improving the condition of e-commerce in the EU, lowering roaming prices (SMS, voice and data services via the Internet) across borders and re-using public data for developing new digital services. Other aspects highlighted by the Danish presidency include consumer protection and the cross-border recognition of electronic signatures.
