4th meeting of the management subcommittee of the Africa Excellence Centre - Lisbon

Upon confirmation that budget funds were available for one more operational year beyond what was planned, the ITU Excellence Centre for the Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries in Africa began its 2012 activity by holding the fourth meeting of the management subcommittee last 17-18 January in Lisbon, chaired by Angola. The gathering was attended by representatives of the ITU, Portugal and Spain as financers, and delegates from the regulatory bodies of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique.

The gathering served to work out details of the action plan already approved for 2012, which envisages increasing the average number of actions per year. Plans call for 13 actions, with each country hosting two, which had not yet occurred only with Equatorial Guinea. Perhaps less significant in the regulatory context is the 13th action, scheduled for Maputo and concerning "distance" training for trainers.
