Portugal participated in the ITU-organised workshop on "Origin Identification and Alternative Calling Procedures" held last 19-20 March in Geneva.
The discussion on alternative calling procedures covered issues such as call-backs, refiling and IP telephony. Regarding call origin identification, the matter of improper numbering use was considered at length.
The topics under debate may play a central role at the World Conference on International Telecommunications scheduled for 3-14 December 2012 in Dubai, where the process of revising the International Telecommunications Regulations will be completed.
