Adjustment of qualifying documents


The 60-working-day time-limit, provided for in article 59 of Law No 17/2012, of 26 April, for postal service providers operating on the date that law enters into force (27 April 2012) to inform ICP - ANACOM of postal services they provide, for the purpose of the adjustment of the respective qualifying documents, will expire on 24 July.

In addition to this information, licensed providers who wish to provide new services in the scope of postal services requiring a license must submit an appropriate application for amendment, pursuant to article 31. For this purpose, they must describe services, indicating their nature and characteristics, the covered areas, the postal network over which they operate, the levels of quality of service to be ensured and measures expected to be implemented to ensure the operation, reliability and quality of those services, as well as the date on which the activity is expected to start.

Authorized providers who wish to provide new services in the scope of postal services requiring a general authorization must submit to ICP - ANACOM the description of such services, indicating the respective area of coverage, the postal network over which they operate and the date on which the service provision is expected to start.

The concessionaire of the universal postal service, CTT - Correios de Portugal, S. A., must inform ICP - ANACOM, also by 24 July 2012, of postal services it provides that are not covered by the scope of the concession, according to paragraph 9 of article 57 of the same law.
