It ended on the 2nd of July a public consultation launched by the European Commission on the proposal of guidelines on the conditions and procedures governing the implementation of the Structural Funds in the electronic communications sector.
Directed mainly to the regional and local entities, this initiative intends to promote the access of the resident populations in more remote zones to the information society. Consequently, in the framework of the regional development programs and the eEurope 2005 Action Plan, 10 billion euros had been offered for the application in mobile nets systems and broadband Internet.
