By determination of 23 August 2012, ANACOM approved the final decision on new statistical indicators for postal services, to be submitted by providers of these services to this authority on a quarterly basis.
This decision follows the entry into force of Law no. 17/2012 of 26 April, transposing Directive 2008/6/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 February into the national legal system, establishing the legal regime applicable to the provision of postal services in full competition in the national territory, as well as international services to or from national territory. It was therefore made necessary to adapt the compilation of statistical information to the new legal framework.
Approval was likewise given to the report on the prior hearing of interested parties, to which the corresponding draft decision was submitted following the determination of 28 June 2012.
