“Write someone a letter explaining why water is a precious resource” was the theme of the 2013 edition of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) letter-writing competition, promoted in Portugal at the joint initiative of ANACOM and CTT-Correios de Portugal. The competition, launched in October 2012, was aimed at young people living in Portugal, between 9 and 15 years of age.
1073 letters were received in this edition, the following winners having been announced:
- 1st category (9-11 years old): Rúben André Ecaleira Matos, from Cerdeira;
- 2nd category (12-15 years old): Daniel Filipe Santos Cruz, from Ermesinde.
The winning letter from the 1st category will go on to represent Portugal in the International letter-writing competition organized by UPU.
