World Radiocommunicatiom Conference 2003 concludes


The World Radiocommunications Conference 2003 (WRC-2003) which had its beginning in Geneva on 9 June 2003, concluded, after four weeks of work, on 4 July 2003.

Whilst privileged international forum on the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for the debate over radiocommunications, the WRC-2003 gathered almost 2300 delegates, whose work have, on the words of the Secretary-General of the ITU, Mr. Yoshio Utsumi, "an enormous impact on the information society, allowing ITU to help build a global communication system that benefits all of humanity."

In addition to the revision of ITU Radiocommunications Regulation, WRC establishes the global technical and regulatory guidelines for the use of frequency spectrum and satellite communications. In this way, taking into account the increasing pressure placed on the radio frequency spectrum, result of the exponential growth of information technologies, WRC-2003 took decisions whose detail can be consulted in the following addresses:
