ECC WG FM PT22 - Copenhagen


Project team 22 of the Frequency Management working group (WG FM PT22) held a meeting last 16-19 April at Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) headquarters in Copenhagen, which focused on spectrum control and monitoring as well as enforcement. It was attended by 50 delegates from 27 countries, two organisations and two companies.

Work was completed on creating an appendix to Recommendation (11)06 on block edge mask (BEM) compliance measurements, to determine methods for measuring long term evolution (LTE) BEM. Efforts continued to improve ECC Report 044-C on guidance for radio usage at special events. Revision work was also finalised on Recommendation SM.575 of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) concerning radio protection of monitoring stations subjected to WP1C - the ITU's SG1. A first analysis was conducted regarding the number of radio interference events submitted by the various European administrations. Lastly, Portugal was made responsible for coordinating the next 6MHz monitoring campaign at the request of the ECC’s Maritime Forum Group.

The Finnish administration's Yrjo Hamalainen was elected to the post of vice-chair of this group.

The next meeting will be held on 10-13 September 2013 at ECC headquarters in Copenhagen.
