Quality of Service Indicators - CTT authorised to deduct records affected by weather disruptions in the Azores


By determination of 27 June 2013, ANACOM has decided to allow the request submitted by CTT - Correios de Portugal (CTT) to deduct records covering the sending of non-priority and priority mail  directly affected by the national airspace restrictions which resulted from bad weather in the Azores in the period 11 to 14 March 2013.

This deduction is relevant for the calculation of quality of service indicators (QSI) defined in the Convénio de Qualidade (Quality Convention) of the universal postal service of 10 July 2008.

The deduction applies to sent items of non-priority mail (6-14 March, inclusive) and priority mail (7-14 March, inclusive) on the following mail routes:

  • from the Mainland to the Azores and vice versa;
  • from the Autonomous Region of the Azores to the Autonomous Region of Madeira and vice versa;
  • between the islands of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
