OECD publishes Communications Outlook 2013

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has released its latest outlook on the communications sector, the ''OECD Communications Outlook 2013''.

This publication focuses, in particular, on the growth of next generation networks (NGN), the increase in broadband services and the need for spectrum resources; it also addressed the depletion of IPv4 addresses and the transition to IPv6, as well as other issues of regulation, competition and innovation. Finally, the report examined different aspects of the television and radio markets, Internet infrastructure, the use of communication by households and businesses and the costs of this use, and trends in telecommunications trade.

Published every two years, the ''OECD Communications Outlook'' provides an extensive range of indicators for the development of different communications networks and compares performance indicators such as revenue, investment, employment and prices for service throughout the OECD area.
