The European Commission's Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry (DGENTR) has launched a call for proposals with the aim of extending the "European Mobile and Mobility Industries Alliance". A special focus is given to promoting the best possible use of the information and data collected through Earth observation and satellite navigation under the Copernicus (European Earth Observation Programme) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) programmes.
As such, the EC is seeking to implement large-scale, innovative services based on information and data from the Copernicus and the European GNSS, aimed at meeting specific social challenges or facilitating the creation of new industries in a given region or metropolitan area.
Applications can be submitted until 4 November 2013, and should be submitted by consortia with a minimum of three partners. The lead applicant or coordinator must be a regional or local organisation involved in funding and/or implementation of horizontal or specific innovation support programmes, from which mobile service companies are potential beneficiaries.
