Meeting of the Group on Capacity-Building Initiatives (GCBI) - London


London hosted last 21-22 October a meeting of the Group on Capacity-Building Initiatives (GCBI) appointed by the director of the Telecommunications Development Bureau (BDT) of the Telecommunications Development Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-D) in accordance with Resolution 40 approved by the ITU member states at the 2010 World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC-10). The GCBI supports the Telecommunications Development Advisory Group (TDAG), which handles implementation of the ITU-D Action Plan resulting from WTDCs, including operational and budget questions.

ANACOM is a member of the GCBI, representing Europe. The group comprises recognised experts in capacity-building who are familiar with their regions’ needs and able to help streamline the ITU members’ capacities to support ITU-D and ensure the enhancement of capacities in cooperation with all programmes.
