Temporary use of the 1850-2000 kHz band by the amateur service


In the context of the amateur service, ANACOM has authorized use of the 1850-2000 kHz band, subject to the conditions set out in Annex 6 of the National Table of Frequency Allocations (NTFA) with respect to the 1830-1850 kHz band, for participation in the "ARRL 160m" contest on 6th, 7th and 8th December 2013. This authorisation is granted under the terms of paragraph 5 of article 3 of Decree-Law no. 151-A/2000 of 20 July, as amended by Decree-Law no. 264/2009 of 28 September.

The authorization for temporary use of the 1850-2000 kHz band may not be used for any other purpose within the amateur service, nor in the context of any other radio service.

Additionally, the transmissions associated with this use may not cause interference to other radio services, whereby any such occurrence of interference shall determine the immediate cessation of transmissions in the band.

These uses shall comply, where applicable, with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 53/2009 of 2 March.

The present authorisation does not give rise to any obligation on ANACOM's part, nor to any right, expectation or legally protected interests as regards to the future process related to this frequency band.
