3rd meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG 15) - Zagreb

The Croatian capital Zagreb hosted last 23-26 September 2013 the third meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG 15) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), chaired by Alexander Kühn of Germany, as part of preparations for the next World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It was attended by 103 delegates from 26 administrations, the European Commission (EC), the European Communications Office (ECO) and five international organisations.

The CPG 15 group is meant to prepare CEPT for WRC-15. The four project teams created at CPG 15-1 (CPG-15 structurehttp://www.cept.org/ecc/groups/ecc/cpg/page/cpg-15-structure) are responsible for discussing and developing the briefs and, if agreed on, the European common proposals (ECPs) for each WRC-15 agenda item (World Radiocommunication Conference 2015http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-R/conferences/wrc/2015/Pages/default.aspx) assigned to them, for subsequent submission to the CPG for discussion and approval.

The four CPG project team chairs presented a summary of work carried out at their recent meetings. At this third CPG meeting they also provided new drafts of briefs for various WRC-15 agenda points, indicating whenever possible/consensual a preliminary CEPT position proposal. Few ECPs were submitted, given that the WRC-15 preparation cycle is still in the early stages.

The next meeting of the CPG group will be held on 25-28 March 2014 in Riga, Latvia.
