Use of the term "unlimited" when referring to offers of electronic communications services - consultation

By determination of 23 January 2014, ANACOM has approved a draft decision on the use of the term "unlimited" when referring to offers of electronic communications services.

The draft decision sets out conditions which electronic communications providers will be required to observe when using the term "unlimited traffic" or "unlimited calls/SMS" to describe their services.

The draft decision is subject to prior hearing and public consultation procedures, with a period of 20 working days provided in both cases for the submission of comments. As such, comments should be sent by email to ofertas.ilimitadas@anacom.ptmailto:ofertas.ilimitadas@anacom.pt1, no later than 24 February 2014. Where respondents give indication that their comments contain confidential information, such indications must comply, under both procedures, with the stipulations of paragraph 3 of article 108 of Lei das Comunicações Eletrónicas (Electronic Communications Law - Law no. 5/2004 of 10 February, as republished by Law no. 51/2011 of 13 September) and of ANACOM determination of 17 November 2011.

Once the consultation process has been concluded, the contributions received will be made public. Therefore, for the purposes of publication on this website, interested parties should also submit a non-confidential version of their responses excluding any items considered confidential.
