ANACOM's Consumers' Website receives over 400 thousand visits in 2013


Launched on 15 March 2011, ANACOM's Consumers' Website received 485,652 visitors in 2013 (information content and e-services), an increase of 160.48 percent compared to 2012. This growth results, in large part, from the introduction in December 2013 of a tool to measure user Internet speed - NET.mede; excluding visits to this tool, visits increased 82.02 percent.

The information content of the website received most interest from consumers (201,592 visits), followed by NET.mede (146,285 visits), COM.escolha (73,038 visits), the "A ANACOM responde" (ANACOM answers) service (51,367 visits) and the "Complaints Form" (13,370 visits). All content categories on the website reported increased visits in 2013, with the information content receiving 78.19 percent more visits compared to 2012; "COM.escolha" received 59.54 percent more visits, "A ANACOM Responde" 213.33 percent and the "Complaints Form" over 20.07 percent more visits.

The website received a total of 1,474,512 page views: 500,281 page views of information content, 408,305 of "NET.mede", 362,147 of "COM.escolha", 173,703 of the "A ANACOM responde" service and 30,076 of the "Complaints Form". Compared to 2012, there was an increase of 120.77 per cent in the number of pages viewed. Excluding NET.mede, the number of page views increased by 59.63 percent.

Within the information content, information on "Altering or terminating contracts" was the most sought out by visitors. The most viewed page was "Terminating a television contract".
