TDAG meeting - Geneva

Geneva hosted last 11-13 December the 18th meeting of the Telecommunications Development Advisory Group (TDAG) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which was dominated by preparations for the World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC-14) to be held from this coming 31 March to 11 April.

Highlights included various organisation-related proposals, concerning the revision of working methods in TDAG and study groups.

A number of other analysed documents should likewise be submitted to WTDC-14 and may be very controversial.

Such documents include those concerning definition of the term 'ICT - information and communication technologies' and its eventual impact on the scope of activities of the ITU itself. Also notable was a proposal to revise Resolution 54 on information and communication technology applications.
