Order no. 3117/2014 of 25 February, published in Series II of Diário da República (Official Gazette), determines the creation of the eCall Working Group (GTeCall).
The GTeCall Working Group has been charged with presenting a draft decree-law which defines the entities involved, their responsibilities and powers, as well as their coordination, in the execution and implementation of eCall, the pan-European system of automatic emergency calls in the European Union (EU) through devices installed in vehicles which, in the event of an accident, use the structure of the European emergency number (112).
The working group is composed of representatives of ANACOM, IMT - Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes (Mobility and Transport Institute), ESPAP - Entidade de Serviços Partilhados da Administração Pública (Public Administration Shared Services Authority), Direção-Geral de Infraestruturas e Equipamentos do Ministério da Administração Interna (General Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) and INEM - Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica (National Medical Emergency Institute).
