Protocol between ANACOM and UMIC


On 28 March 2003, it has been underwritten a protocol of cooperation, between ANACOM and UMIC (Unidade de Missão Inovação e Conhecimento) ? (Unit of Mission Innovation and Knowledge), represented by their Chairman and Manager, respectively.

This protocol congregates efforts and resources, based on articulated collaboration between the two entities in orderto stimulate and support the development of joint initiatives prone to access massification of information society.

In this context, it has been agreed on a plan of action for the first year, attached to the protocol in force in which,the areas and initiatives to be developed are identified. The projects associated to foreseen actions will be subjected to limited or public tender, according to appropriate legislation. This plan of action shall be revised annually.

The prompt and integral accomplishment of the protocol is supervised by a monitoring commission, composed by one representative of ANACOM and two of UMIC, which will be coordinated by the latter. It is up to the commission to elaborate an annual report of the previous year activity as well as to prepare a plan of action for the next year, which will be ratified by the heads of ANACOM and UMIC in a joint meeting.

The protocol which was now formalized is valid for one year, renewable up to maximum of 3 years, based on the parties? interest annually assessed.
