''Write a letter describing how music can touch lives'' - this was the theme chosen for the 2014 edition of the letter-writing competition of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), organised jointly in Portugal by ANACOM and CTT - Correios de Portugal.
In Portugal, the competition was launched in 2013, directed at young people living in the country, aged between 9 and 15 years.
Of the 827 letters received, the letters submitted by the following participants were chosen as winners:
- 1st category (9-11 years): João Nuno Freire dos Santos, Lamego;
- 2nd category (12-15 years): Joana Catarina Pombo Belo, Sintra.
The winning letter from the 2nd category will go on to represent Portugal at the International Letter-writing Competition organized by the UPU.
