The 14th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR14) is being held from 3 to 5 June 2014 in Manama, Bahrain. The theme of the Symposium, which is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is "Capitalizing on the potential of the digital world".
The event aims to analyze the best way of ensuring citizens obtain the range of benefits provided by the digital world in an informative, responsive and secure manner, through regulation.
João Confraria of ANACOM's Management Board will participate as a speaker at the session of 4 June, in the panel "Network Debate: Meeting the demand for capacity, are we getting there?"
The event is preceded, on 2 June, by the annual meeting of regulator associations, at which the secretariat of the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP-ARCTEL), whose work is undertaken by ANACOM, will present the association's main activities.
