4th meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG 15) - Riga

The Latvian capital Riga hosted last 25-28 March the fourth meeting of CEPT's Conference Preparatory Group (CPG 15) responsible for the preparation cycle ahead of the upcoming 2015 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC 15) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The gathering chaired by Alexander Kühn of Germany was attended by 132 delegates from 32 administrations, the European Commission (EC), the European Communication Office (ECO) and seven observers.

CPG 15 is in charge of preparing CEPT for WRC 15. The four project teams created at the first CPG 15 meeting (CPG-15 structurehttp://www.cept.org/ecc/groups/ecc/cpg/page/cpg-15-structure) debate and develop the briefs and, if consensus exists, the European common proposals (ECPs) for each of the WRC 15 agenda items assigned to them; they are then submitted to the CPG for discussion and approval.

The chairs of the four CPG project teams presented summaries of the work carried out at the meetings held since the third meeting of CPG 15. They also provided at this fourth meeting new drafts/revisions of the briefs for nearly all WRC 15 agenda points, indicating whenever possible/consensual a proposed preliminary CEPT position. Several ECPs (referring to items 1.7, 1.9.1, 1.11, 1.13, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17, 1.18 and 4) were also presented to the CPG. The draft briefs and ECPs were approved by CPG 15-4 after being discussed and revised.

The next CPG meeting will be held on 23-26 September 2014 in France.
