TSAG meeting - Geneva

Geneva hosted last 17-20 June a meeting of the ITU Telecommunications Standardisation Advisory Group (TSAG), chaired by Bruce Gracie of Canada.

The agenda notably included discussion about RevCom, a committee whose mission is to present proposals to reorganise the ITU Telecommunication Standardisation Sector (ITU-T). Another relevant issue was the question of industrial property rights, which in the ITU has debated in the scope of an ad hoc group specifically set up for that purpose.

TSAG also agreed to create two focus groups devoted to monitoring flight data, per a proposal by Malaysia, and to mobile payments, per a proposal from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
