Postal Directive Committee meeting - Brussels


The Postal Directive Committee held a meeting last 10 June in Brussels, where political initiatives and developments concerning the level of electronic commerce and postal parcel distribution were presented, with respect to the roadmap for the postal parcel market.

Also considered were issues such as the process for gathering postal sector statistical data by the Internal Market and Services Directorate General (DG MARKT), changes occurring in the context of the Single Market Scoreboard and activities in the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP). Presentations were also given by WIK, the Postal Users Forum and the International Post Corporation.

Denmark reported on the process of changing the postal law, stating that it intended to review the sector's legal framework over the next year.
