On 10 July 2014, the European Commission (EC) launched the "Connected Communities" Initiative, seeking to promote broadband deployment, facilitating access to finance and the development of suitable business models.
In this context, the EC invites public, semi-public and private, local, regional or national entities, to submit concepts and plans for projects that can be replicated in the European Union - the closing date for submissions is 15 October 2014.
