Discussion of CPLP Telecommunications in Brasil

The II Telecommunications Technical Meeting of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa - CPLP), took place in Brasilia, Brazil, at Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) installations, from the 29th September to the 1st October 2003, with participation of their member countries regulating bodies and keeping on with regular work in the scope of the CPLP, mainly the I Technical Meeting, which took place in Luanda, Angola, on July 2002.

This meeting, intended to establish a platform for sector-based exchange experiences, as a way of promoting skill cooperation in the heart of the CPLP, will take place next Wednesday 1 October, and it will be discussed matters such as the telecommunications scenery in the CPLP countries, the price and tariff models and policies in telecommunication services, the regulation of fixed and mobile networks interconnection rates, the use of the radio spectrum and its relating renumbering, the introduction of broadband services, the establishment and control of universalization and quality goals and yet the convergence of telecommunications services and technologies.

ANACOM is deeply involved in the works, with several presentations and communications.
