ANACOM requires CTT to provide information on postal establishments in operation

ANACOM - Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações has ruled that CTT - Correios de Portugal is bound to begin dissemination of information on all postal establishments in operation (post offices and agencies), including information on each establishment's location, opening hours and on the services offered.

This information is to be made available on CTT's website and is to be kept up-to-date by CTT, so that users of postal services always have access to information about the locations of post offices and agencies and about which services are provided. This information is particularly important, given that a number of changes have been made to the postal network, with some post offices being replaced by postal agencies and with the closure of a number of postal establishments.

The obligation to provide this information enters into force within two months, giving CTT time to prepare the information which it will have to report to the market.

At the end of 2013, there were 2443 postal establishments in Portugal, including 1820 agencies and 623 post offices.
